We’re Daniel Urdanivia and Frank Battiston, proud owners of PowerTale Productions.

We look forward to sharing our story. We hope that you will enjoy getting to know us better.

Daniel and I started PowerTale Productions because we love stories and film. Creating videos is our greatest passion. More than a job, it’s an art form that requires not only imagination and ideas, but also a deep understanding of the craft and persistence in the details to work effectively as a business tool.

We have been with PowerTale Productions since 2014, but we’ve been in the entertainment business since 2003. To tell you a little about ourselves and how we started on this journey, we’ll start with Daniel. Daniel lived in Cuba until he was twenty-nine years old. It was there that he studied Performing Arts in Teatro Escambray and became an actor and acting teacher in multiple theater groups around the island.

Upon arriving to the US, Daniel studied photography, which inspired him to pursue a degree in film production. He went on to work for various TV networks and production companies in the likes of Univision, Telemundo, Machinima, and Plural, doing fourteen years in that space. Daniel now owns and works at PowerTale Productions where he is the Creative Director, bringing great content and stories to the screen for different clients.

I lived in Colombia until I was nineteen. I studied photography during this time and eventually moved to Madrid, Spain for a year to study film directing and then to the US to study film production. While working for TV networks in the likes of Univision, Telemundo, Variety, and NBC Universal, I pursued a master’s degree in the entertainment business.

I co-owned Walking Wolf Productions until 2012, when I decided to move to Los Angeles to expand my horizons. I am now the owner and Technical Director of PowerTale Productions. I focus on production logistics and project development for different clients of the company.

Together we enjoy generating ideas that are entertaining and out of the box, but also effective and business oriented. Beyond the idea entailing each video, for us, the true creative process is to make profitable videos for clients that are not only cohesive and built on information, but also to make them fun and interesting for people.

Our belief is that the most profitable and effective videos are the ones that a) communicate well the content, service, or story, b) are well crafted and cinematic, c) are concise, and d) are fun to watch for viewers. This is our magic recipe.

We attribute our business success to the cinematic quality we provide to our videos, not only at a technical level, but also from a content perspective, making it easy to understand and relatable to the intrinsic human condition. Watching our efforts in every video pay off is the best feeling. When clients call or write saying they feel excited and proud to release their product to the world, we feel accomplished and determined to improve our approach and techniques when making future videos.

We run our business by with integrity, honesty, and respect in all of our client relationships. Our strengths lie in being reliable, committed, and consistent with every process of each client.

When we’re not working, we love camping in the wild, specifically in natural parks such as the Sequoia and Yosemite. I believe that’s where we re-energize the most and where we get in touch with our inner child. This is also where we draw most of our inspiration for work when we get back to the city.

Personally, I love to travel and discover new places with new stories to tell. Daniel loves to cook and find new recipes that indulge his palette. You can’t be good at work if you don't find the fun in life!

Something we’ve grown to develop being in this industry when you’re filming from behind a camera is that you become observant of your surroundings and are very sensitive to it. Something pressing we find in today’s day and age that we feel is important to share is that although the world has become very tolerant to diversity, we believe there is a lack of empathy around the world that makes it detached to what matters most - our capacity to exchange experiences, emotions, and ideas.

We have enjoyed sharing our story about the things which matter to us and how they influence the way we do business.

If you or someone you know could benefit from our expertise in video production and post-production in Los Angeles, CA, we invite you to get in touch. Please visit our website at www.powertaleproductions.com.

Sincerely,

Daniel and Frank
